Info:
Besides the warm feeling you get inside when you do something nice for another person, supporting a charity allows you to make a difference in the world. Too often people complain about the "bad" news instead of trying to do something to help. Supporting a charity doesn’t always mean just giving money. Many charities accept reusable household goods and clothing, the donation of a broken vehicle, or a helping hand when it comes time to campaign, fundraise or directly participate in their work.

Age Distributions of British Donators Donation to charities has been very popular in the UK. By giving money to help the needy, those donators can make a difference to the world. So it is interesting to find out who makes donation and how they donate. In the following, I will present the number of people who made charitable donations among people of different ages in Britain in two separate years 1990 and 2010. It is clear that overall, a greater percentage of British people gave money to charity in 1990 than in 2010. It is also noticeable that over the two years, the pattern differs before and after the age of 50. In 1990, about 42% of the 36-50 age-group donated money and this is the highest figure on the chart. In contrast, the 18-25s contributed the least at only 17%. These two figures dropped to 35% and 7% respectively in 2010. The level of donations made by people aged between 26 and 35 also saw a decrease from just over 30% to nearly 25% during this period. The pattern is opposite for the two older age groups. While donations up to the age of 50 declined over the two years, they rose among the 51 -65 age-group from 35% to almost 40%. The figure for the over 65s was lower than this, at 35%, but it was still a little higher than the 1990 figure of 32%. From the above figures, it is obvious that the number of donators varies with age. People under 50 tend to do fewer donations while people over 50 seem to show more interest in doing charities.
