Although the negative impact of industrial civilization is shocking, Pigsy is still showing off his good idea to catch the monster, which is clearly a wonderful irony of contemporary people. Admittedly, industrial revolution has brought rapid development to human society, but the pollution coming with it is destroying our living environment more seriously. Plastic bags are flying in the sky; many species die out because of sewage discharge; deforestation has caused more dust storms, soil erosion and growing land desertification. In short, all kinds of pollution, which are produced by human beings, can be found everywhere. It is more intolerable that some leaders in power just pursue immediate performance or maximum economic benefits, regardless of people’s living environment and the next generation. Environmental protection has even not been placed on their agenda. As a result, we must speak out: there is no time to lose in saving the earth. We should regard environmental indicators as the first requirement in the pursuit of industrial development and minimize its harmful effects.
