答案 The Importance of Self-education "Every person", says Gibbon "has two types of education, one which he receives from others, and the other more important，which he gives to himself." No matter in ancient times or in modern society, self-education has played a very important role in the development of human civilization as well as in individual progress．No one teaches the first man who make stones into spears and no one teaches the first woman to make animal skin into clothes-they learn these skills by themselves. In our modern. society, there still are many prominent figures that have succeeded by teaching themselves．For example, Thomas Edison，the inventor of the incandescent bulb and over two hundred other inventions, had no more than three months’ education in the primary school. Through self education, first of all, we can learn much from out of our textbooks and classes, for what’s in our books or from our teachers is very limited. For the second，when teaching ourselves，we use our heads more frequently than when we learn from others; so we may go deeper about what we learn. Finally，our world is developing fast; we can not have teachers around us all the time; we have to learn by ourselves to keep abreast of the current situation. But how to study effectively? In my opinion, me must know what we should learn. Meanwhile, we should cultivate good study habits. Last，we have to study regularly and persistently. Everyone has his own way to study. We’d better find the most appropriate way for ourselves.
