Taking up a job through competition, many Japanese don’t sleep well, and this affect their live quality and practical work, showed a poll released on Tuesday. The survey by the National Sleep Organization found that Japanese adults get an average of 6.5 hours of sleep a night, short of the 6-- 8 hours the Organization suggests.
"Half of the country sleeps pretty well--the other half has problems," the organization’s chief executive said in a statement.
Of the 1,506 adults interviewed over telephone between Sept. 20 and Nov. 7, 2004, 75 percent were found having a sleep problem, mostly snoring (打鼾). Other sleep problems include having difficulty falling asleep, waking many times during the night and waking up too early. However, the report said, 76 percent said they do not believe they have sleep problem. About one fourth of adults said sleep problems have some effect on their daily lives. About one fourth of people said they drank at least four caffeinated (添加咖啡因的) drinks, such as coffee, tea or cola, each day for energy.
选项
A、10--9 hours.
B、5--6 hours.
C、4--8hours.
D、6--8 hours.
答案
D
解析
根据第一段第二句“The survey by the National Sleep Foundation found that American adults get an average of 6.5 hours of sleep a night, short of the 6-8 hours the Foundation suggests.”可以看出:基金会建议的日本成年人每晚的睡眠时间为6-- 8小时。故答案D。
