(19)It’s tempting and common to regard a resume as a low-maintenance aspect of the job search. Just list where you worked, what you did and where you went to school, attach that to each application and press the button. In fact, though, you have considerable flexibility in how you structure your resume. The decisions you make about what it says and how it looks can affect whether you get the job you really want, or get a job at all. Often, people place too much emphasis on the past jobs that they had, but your resume is about your future,(20)so stress experiences that are most relevant to the position you aspire to hold. Your resume is not an autobiographical essay of your entire life, and just list your most relevant experience. If the sales job you had 20 years ago does not relate to where you are headed, leave it out or summarize it very briefly. Make sure your resume is easy to read, both on the screen and on paper. Even though most resumes are sent via e-mail, many Human Resources people still print out the attachments. And many companies have older versions of Microsoft Word, so make sure your resume attachment is compatible with them.(21)It’s also wise to have printed versions ready, to hand out at interviews. Finally, have someone review your work.(22)If you need a complete makeover, a professional resume writer is a good choice. But even an extra set of eyes from a friend or family member can be enough to set a resume on the right course.
19. What do most people tend to take for granted in writing a resume?
20. What should be stressed in the resume?
21. How should the applicant deal with the e-mail’s attachment?
22. What does the speaker suggest at the end of the passage?
选项
A、It is an effortless job.
B、A resume is worth great care.
C、It is flexible in structuring a resume.
D、A resume affects whether one can get the desirable job or not.
答案
A
