It is really a beautiful room, with an old fireplace(壁炉)in the east wall. This is where we have our meals. There are doors on either side of the fireplace, leading to(通往)two smaller rooms. One is my study and the other is a bedroom—nice and bright. At the back of the big room, a flight of stairs(楼梯)leads up to the second floor.
    The stairs lead into the living-room—it’ s a nice, big room. It has windows in the north, south and west walls. This is where we spend most of our time when we’ re not working. There is a big bedroom on this floor. It used to be two rooms, but we had a wall taken down. Between the living-room and the bedroom is a storeroom. We want to turn it into a small bedroom for guests, but we haven’ t found the time to do it.
The stairs are at the back of the big room on the first floor.
