This was a famous song in the rural areas. Mothers often use it to soothe their babies and put them to sleep. It was an eight-line song and the way my mum sang it was hypnotic. Sometimes when I find it hard to sleep, I will think about it and that always brings me comfort. 　　Mum was the one who always hummed this little happy tune to me till I was 6 when I had to go to school. The school I went to was a boarding school, so I had to live by myself. When I felt lonely sometimes, I would sing the song to myself, imaging that my mum was there with me. This song is no exception. I’ve played it for hundreds of times, so it seems to have already rooted in my head. This is the main reason why I still remember it.
