(2) Teaching difficult points ① How to cultivate students’ ability to read for the main content and enable them to use it in daily life. ② How to help students use correct expressions to talk about their opinions on the protection of hair. Major Steps: Step 1 Pre-reading (3 minutes) (1) Teach new words through pictures. Then invite students to make sentences with these words. (2) Have a free talk with students about "How to care for your hair" and ask students to express their opinions actively. (Justification: Pictures and sentence-making can help students master the meaning and usage of new words easily. Free talk can help students know more about the topic, which can help students easily master the main content they will learn.) Step 2 While-reading (8 minutes) ① Ask students to read the leaflet quickly, find out how many parts are there, and give each part a summary. Then, invite some students to share their ideas. ② Ask students to read the passage once again. Task 1: Finish the tasks in the form. [*] Task 2: Find out the answers to these questions: Q1: How can we choose the shampoo and how can we use the conditioner? Q2: What kind of hairbrushes and combs shall we choose? Q3: What should we pay attention to when using the hairdryers? Then check the answers together. (Justification: To finish the tasks above, students need to read the passage several times. They will have a full understanding about this leaflet and meanwhile their reading skills will be improved.) Step 3 Post-reading (4 minutes) Group work Ask students to make a role-play. Students are required to work in groups of four. One of them should act as the employee of the hairdressing salon, and the other three students should act as customers to ask for information about the salon and hair-protecting tips. 3 minutes later, ask some groups to share their opinions. (Justification: This activity will provide students with more opportunities to do some practice. It will help them to master the content they have learned.)
