E-books
Although mainstream acceptance remains a few years down the road, E-books appear to be on their way. The early success of Stephen King’s internet-only work, The Plant, has shown that the medium is beginning to catch on, though significant hurdles remain before it, gains widespread popularity. Several publishers have established E-book divisions exclusively devoted to the technology, and both Amazon. com and bn. com (Barnes & Noble’s online venue) have created spaces on their sites to handle E-books. The new technology has a number of advantages over its paper relation, called the "P-book" by those in the publishing industry, posing the question as to whether they outweigh the seemingly irreplaceable intimacy shared between reader and his tree-born, black-and-white typed companion.
Student A Hey Gary, what’s up? You seem to be under the weather.
Student B That’s true.
Student A What’s wrong?
Student B It is all about the living expenses here. The tuition fees and living costs are really high for me, I think.
Student A Well, it hasn’t been a long period of time since you arrived here. You might’ve taken the point into consideration before you came, right?
Student B Exactly, but the estimation was not so large. It’s not what I originally thought.
Student A So far as I know, upon arrival, students should have funds in excess of the average to cover the cost of some items.
Student B Really? I haven’t talked about it with my advisor yet.
Student A You should. How’s your accommodation now?
Student B That’s what I’m worrying about. You know, having shared accommodation is not suitable. It is better for me to take advantage of a live-in situation with nativespeakers who are easy to communicate with, and I am in need of practice, but it will cost more.
Student A How about taking part-time jobs?
Student B We are allowed to work up to 20 hours during the term, and full-time during vacation. But it may have an effect on my academic studies.
Student A But it should do some good, releasing your burden to some extent.
Student B Well, I’ve gotta to think it over.
Student A Right. Cheer up. Turn to your advisor for some policy help, and consider certain kind of part-time jobs. Everything will be alright.
Student B Thanks.

Future of E-books: From a practical viewpoint, the storage capacity of E-books makes it easy on both business and leisure travelers. No more sleeping around volumes of written materials. Environmentally speaking, that means less cutting down of trees. The most attractive quality of E-books is their versatility. E-books have searchable highlights, making it easier for you to relocate important sections you’ve marked. You can take notes without running out of margin space. E-books can also be read in the dark. Finally, as mentioned earlier, you can download an E-book in seconds, and there are no shipping fees. As for the future of the technology, it is expected that E-books will make books cheaper and more portable. It will not only be used for reading books, but will allow readers to subscribe to favorite magazines and newspapers. All E-book hardware will have wireless connectivity, updating people with the latest breaking news. P-books won’t disappear in the future Of course, paper and pen won’t disappear. Ranging from publishers to authors to website entrepreneurs, all said that the familiar bound volume will still be available in the future. As is known that videotapes didn’t kill off movies, the two have co-existed for years and even benefit one another. The same will be true of E-books and P-books.
