W: Hello, Mr. Edison. As you know, I’ve been with the company for three years now. Over that time, I’ve handled a number of successful projects and have contributed a lot to our team. That being said, I’m wondering if I could have my salary increased.
M: Christine, you’re one of the hardest working people in the office. I’d love to give you a raise, but I need to discuss it first with the director. I’ll get back to you in a few days. Is that fine?
W: Yes, of course. Thank you very much, sir.
M: You’re welcome. There will be a board meeting on Friday, so I can bring it up at that time. I’ll let you know about their decision once I find out.
