    There’s a lot of information technology packed between the leather cheeks of your wallet: cheque cards, credit cards, travel cards, phone cards.     When a card is placed in an ATM, a motorized reader scans the magnetic strip, requests the user’s PIN, checks the balance and, all being well, dispenses the cash. (43)______.
