(2) Teaching difficult point How to make students set goals for their future and work out a plan to help their dreams come true. Major Steps: Step 1 Pre-writing (8 minutes) (1) Ask students to read the passage quickly to find out what these people will do in ten years and ask some students to share their answers. As they read the passage, students should pay attention to those useful words and expressions that they can use in their own writing. (2) Let students discuss with their partners about their future plan based on the form. Then ask some students to share their future plan. Others as well as the teacher can give supplements and feedback. What do you want to do in the future? Why do you want to do that? How are you going to achieve that? (Justification: Through reading and discussion, students can know how to organize a passage and collect the writing materials, which will help them write more easily.) Step 2 While-writing (5 minutes) Ask students to write a short passage about their future jobs in ten years based on the form they just finished. They need to write in 100 words, paying attention to the spelling, grammar and logic. If they have any difficulties, they can raise their hands for help. (Justification: By writing a short passage, students can learn to think about their future.) Step 3 Post-writing (7 minutes) (1) Self-editing and Peer-editing Present the rubrics. Ask students to check their own writing, then exchange their articles with their deskmates and check for each other to correct errors. (2) Sharing and Evaluation Invite some students to read their passages and give them proper, encouraging evaluations. (Justification: Students will learn from each other’s strength, and their writing ability can be enhanced.)
