On the one hand, many ways of our daily action are doing harm to our environment. Though many products of modern civilization such as automobiles bring us numerous benefits and conveniences, they also result in some disadvantages which endanger our living environment and will destroy our earth in the future. On the other hand, the general public lack the awareness of environmental protection when they enjoy the convenience brought about by the products of modern civilization. People have not yet realized that any product of modern civilization including automobiles is a double-edged sword. People most often neglect the side effects of our modern products which they utilize every day. On the whole, the ignorance of the harmfulness caused by our way of modern life is bound to destroy both our environment and our own future. In my view, some necessary measures must be taken to avoid the occurrence of the phenomenon described in the drawing. First of all, public awareness should be raised m get rid of the harmful results of modern life. In addition, laws and regulations should be set up in order to curb the excessive use of products which can damage our living environment. Only in these ways can we maintain a sustainable development in the future.
