And there is a caption under the picture which reads’21, "Speaker mode of electronic devices is prohibited." Simple as the cartoon is, the meaning is thought-provoking. What the drawing wants to reflect, obviously, is that due attention should be paid to noise pollution in public. There are several reasons accounting for this phenomenon. First and foremost, as science and technology further develop, individuals prefer to obtain information from watching videos released on social media applications, or get recreation by listening to music, turning on the speaker mode without caring about the noise pollution in public. What’s more, a series of laws and regulations concerned are not fully implemented in public health management. Last but not least, the coverage of mass media fails to arouse citizens’ attention to noise pollution, leading to an increasingly depressing situation. In order to cope with this social headache, it is necessary to launch a nationwide campaign to improve people’s awareness of noise pollution in public. Only when we take practical actions can we contribute to social harmony and create a civilized society.
