答案 Some people believe that growing up in a large family, with several sisters and brothers, offers more advantages than disadvantages. Other people think that being the only child is more advantageous. As the only child in the family, he or she receives more elaborate attendance. Parents usually try hard to satisfy their needs and fulfill their requests. Those children, who are sometime called “little emperor”, are in the danger of being spoilt, over pampered and self-centered. Though as the center of the family, the only child feels lonely: he has no one to play with. As they are always taken care of by their parents, they are not ready to take their responsibilities. Even when they graduate from universities, some of them still have to depend on their parents. They usually need more time to get adjusted to the change in his career or in life because they are brought up in an environment in which they are sheltered and dependent on their parents. In a word, being the only child in the family they enjoy some advantages. However they have some disadvantages too.
