答案 As can be seen in the picture, a man is lighting his cigarette, with his shadow being enlarged and cast on the wall. However, there is one inconsistency. His shadow is not lighting a cigarette, but rather holding a gun pointed at himself. The picture, as I see it, intends to warn its readers of the dangers of smoking by comparing smoking to committing suicide. There is no doubt that smoking is harmful to us and people around us. For one thing, smoking is detrimental to our lungs. People with a long history of smoking are most likely to develop lung cancer and other lung disorders. For another thing, smoking poses threats to family members and friends. As is known to all, the adverse effects caused by second-hand smoking are even worse than those caused by first-hand smoking. People who are exposed to second-hand smoking are actually victimized by smokers’ self-indulgent pursuit of pleasure. This is unfair and unacceptable. Given the harm done by smoking, it is advisable to quit smoking, or at least keep it to yourself.
